About Us

Discover the rich story of Capitol History and Culture and its significance in the local community and beyond. Capitol History & Culture (CHC) provides programs, services and products that affirm and promote the history and culture of African Americans and people of the Black Diaspora, in the context of a worldview. CHC advocates for, supports and creates historical and cultural institutions and organizations, to sustain intervention in violence and poverty with the purpose of achieving maximum self and collective esteem. CHC endeavors to enrich the lives of all people, especially youth, using education to empower them through experiences that enlighten them culturally and intellectually. CHC is a resource for the community, a forum for broader community engagement and a partner for collaborations with other historical, cultural, and educational institutions and an affirmative force in society. CHC invokes the Ancestors, as we further devote our life-long work to perpetuate and secure substantive, affirmative evolution of the acmic wellbeing of our Ascendants, by securing every aspect possible of strategic and tactile reparations and generational wealth, by all means necessary.
